For the past 50 years, socialists have been trying to use the environment as their tool to impose their agenda and policies on the Americans people and rest of the world. If there aren’t any real environmental crisis, they vowed to create some.
If you notice that over the past half century, it’s Democrats that have mainly taken up the cause of environmental issues, not all real or logical. I hope you realize that when it comes to politicians who identify as Democrats, that they are essentially socialists under the disguise of being a Democrat.
Since our public education system has been more concerned about brainwashing millions of kids to believe in socialism, we see that rise among the millennials. In fact, socialism, once a very strong taboo and political career killer in America has now become more acceptable and growing in popularity.
Case in point is Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Sanders has proclaimed his socialism for several years. Ocasio-Cortez and Tlaib are the first members of the Democratic Socialists of America to be elected to Congress and there are more in the ranks ready to follow their example.
Ocasio-Cortez, readily known as AOC, is pushing her Green New Deal, which has little to do with the environment and everything to do with her socialist agenda. To push her Green New Deal, AOC is trying to tell everyone that the world as we know it, will end in just 12-years if we don’t take drastic action to preserve the environment. (Reminds me of some radical Christians in the past several decades who have also predicted the end of the world, but none of those ever happened and it’s seriously doubtful that everything will come crashing down in 12-years as AOC is proclaiming.)
As tornado warnings were issued for Washington DC last week, AOC took to Instagram to use the warning as propaganda to push her radical socialist Green New Deal, according to a report on Daily Wire:
“The climate crisis is real y’all,” Ocasio said on Instagram. “Guess we’re at casual tornadoes in growing regions of the country?”
Ryan Maue, who has a Ph.D. in meteorology, quickly fact-checked Ocasio-Cortez, writing on Twitter: “I thought this was fake but it’s from [Ocasio-Cortez’s] Instagram story. No idea what she means with “casual tornadoes” and how this line of severe thunderstorms is proof of any ‘climate crisis.’ It’s just the weather in D.C.”
“The Congresswoman [Ocasio-Cortez] does not know the difference between weather and climate,” Maue added. “Let’s try an easy analogy: Weather is what outfit you wear heading out the door. Climate is your closet wardrobe.”
Watching the weather on a national news program, the meteorologist stated that the number of tornadoes is not increasing to any significant degree over the past 50-years. He pointed out that years past have had huge numbers of tornadoes and that some more recent years have seen fewer tornadoes. He concluded that the current outbreak of tornadoes has nothing to do with climate change as far as he can see from the data.
Other climate experts also challenged AOC’s 12-year doom prediction, as reported on Axios:
What we’re hearing: “12 years isn’t a deadline, and climate change isn’t a cliff we fall off — it’s a slope we slide down,” said Kate Marvel, a climate scientist at NASA. “We don’t have 12 years to prevent climate change — we have no time. It’s already here. And even under a business-as-usual scenario, the world isn’t going to end in exactly twelve years.”
The rhetoric used by Ocasio-Cortez and many others in favor of bold action suggests that either scientists or the media, or both, got the IPCC report wrong.
Andrea Dutton, a paleoclimate researcher at the University of Florida, said the 12-year deadline became attractive for media headlines in spite a lack of support from the IPCC report itself:
“For some reason the media latched onto the 12 years (2030), presumably because they thought that it helped to get across the message of how quickly we are approaching this and hence how urgently we need action. Unfortunately, this has led to a complete mischaracterization of what the report said.”
Reality check: “All the time-limited frames are bull****,” Gavin Schmidt, who leads NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, told Axios in an email. “Nothing special happens when the ‘carbon budget’ runs out or we pass whatever temperature target you care about, instead the costs of emissions steadily rise,” he said. The IPCC report, for example, found the impacts worsen considerably beyond 1.5°C of warming.
- “The thing to push back against is the implicit framing that there is some magic global mean temperature or total emissions that separate ‘fine’ from ‘catastrophic’. There just isn’t,” Schmidt said.
Yes, the climate is changing, but then it’s been changing for many centuries. There are historical records and indicators of periods of hotter years globally and cooler years globally. Some climate experts say that climate change is cyclic has been cyclic for centuries.
If you want to see some of the facts and fallacies of AOC’s Green New Deal, go here.
The bottom line is that AOC has NO clue what she is talking about. Her deadline of 12-years has NO basis in fact. It is nothing more than a political ploy to push her socialist agenda. By using climate change and the environment, socialists can control every aspect of business which in turn controls the economy and the government. Don’t fall into AOC’s trap.
