A Valuable Lesson Our Kids Are NOT Being Taught

There is no doubt that today’s public education system isn’t teaching the same lessons and truths that they taught when I was in school. What they are teaching our kids is how to be good socialist comrades when they grow up.

I was reminded of this when watching the local news when they aired a pair of opinion pieces, one by a conservative and one by a liberal (aka socialist). The conservative went first and he said that kids today are not being taught a valuable lesson and it had to do with the meaning of God bless America.

He didn’t speak about faith, but rather on the fact that kids today are not being taught about the millions of American men and women who have fought for and sacrificed to first win our nation’s freedom and then preserve that freedom. The phrase ‘God bless America’ was on the minds of many Americans as they fought for the cause of our nation.

Then to be fair, the news allowed a young black woman to rebut what the conservative said. She gave the typical socialist response about not wanting to offend anyone, caring not that what she was saying was offensive to many Americans.

Hearing that makes one begin to yell at the television at the liberal and ask her what about offending the majority of Americans who still identify as Christians? What about including them?

What the liberal and every other liberal really means is that they want special rights and privileges for everyone who holds the same liberal views while at the same time, removing the rights and freedoms of everyone who disagrees with them. Folks, this is nothing more than pure socialism and/or political dictatorship.

This really hit home when I recently listened to Lee Greenwood sing his hit song, God Bless the USA. I listened to the lyrics and thinking about America today, it almost made me weep in despair. Take a few moments to listen to the song and follow along with the lyrics below:

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife

I thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can’t take that away

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea

From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Where’s pride in every American heart
And it’s time we stand and say

That I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

As I listened to the song, I realized how much America had changed since Greenwood recorded the song in 1984, a mere 35-years-ago. The America he sang about then is not the America we see today and it is largely due to the fact that public education system is NOT teaching the valuable lessons that used to be taught about our nation and the cost of freedom.

However, not all of the blame lies with public education, because parents have allowed them to brainwash their kids with the socialist garbage that is destroying our nation. For the sake of our kids, their kids and our nation, parents need to do what they have failed to do for the past 35 years and stand up against the schools and demand they teach the values of America and what made our nation be the one that Greenwood sang about and the one that so many sacrificed to preserve. If parents don’t take action now, all will be lost in the very near future.
