New Mexico County Sheriff Responds to Trump’s Border Wall

Candidate Donald Trump outraged Democrats in 2016 when he promised to build a border wall and increase border security. However, that promise played a large part of his winning the election over Hillary Clinton.

Over the past couple of years, President Trump has been trying to fulfill that campaign promise, but has faced hurdle after hurdle from Democrats and Trump-hating RINOs. The Democrats, at least many of them, want open borders that would allow millions of immigrants to enter the US illegally. They care nothing about such a policy allowing violent criminals, terrorists, and dangerous illegal drugs to freely cross the border as well. They also care little that illegal aliens regularly rob, beat, physically assault, sexually assault, rape and murder hundreds, if not thousands of American citizens every year.

President Trump has been trying to obtain the funding with which to build the border wall to protect America and the American people, but Democrats and some RINOs continue to fight him. Last December, the Republican controlled House did pass a spending bill that included the $5.8 billion Trump had asked for, but RINOs in the Senate, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell allowed their personal hatred of Trump to supersede their duty to the American people and refused to approve the spending bill. This is what forced the 5-week long government shutdown.

Since that time, Democrats who now have control of the House, refuse to approve the money Trump wants to build the border wall. That left Trump no alternative but to do the same thing Barack Obama and other presidents have done, he declared a national emergency which allows him to use military money to fund the border wall.

Democrats and RINOs passed a bill to block Trump’s emergency declaration and Trump promptly vetoed the bill. The House tried to drum up votes to override the veto, but fell short by over 40 votes. That prompted the Department of Defense to move $1 billion towards the construction of a section of the border wall.

If you listen to Democrats and sewagestream media, you would think that very few people support this move on the part of President Trump and the DOD, but then they are wrong as usual.

On Friday morning, Fox News aired an interview with Cibola County (New Mexico) Sheriff Tony Mace who freely spoke his opinion on the border crisis and Trump’s national emergency declaration. Here is part of that interview, which you can view here:

Heather Childers – So, let’s listen first to what the President had to say last night, one of the things he said in reference to the border crisis and specifically with Border Patrol.

Trump – We are building that wall…look at the hundreds of thousands of people that are invading our country. You would know that we need it…The Republican Party will always stand with the heroes of ICE and the heroes of Border Patrol…

Childers – So, is he doing enough to help you, specifically there in New Mexico?

Tony Mace – You know we’re, as a law enforcement office, I support this effort, and I’m happy to hear that there is going to be, that the money was released to help build the 57-miles of wall. Um, our Border Patrol is stretched thin down there. So thin that they have to close our checkpoints on the interstate, which means massive amounts of drugs are going to be coming up and down our highway and that influxes into the whole United States.

There’s over 8.000 crossings in one week alone. There’s such a strain on the area on the southern border that they’re moving and bussing these individuals up to the city of Albuquerque and it’s creating a huge issue on our state. It’s created a massive problem in our country. It’s time for us to do something about this and get this issue resolved.

Childers – The President talked a little about that last night as well, specifically when it comes to drug trafficking and people who are crossing our border illegally and bringing drugs into this country. He pointed out that 300 Americans a week die from heroin that is trafficked from Mexico. Have you seen a rise in that problem over the past years?

Mace – We’ve seen a huge problem across our state and a huge increase in heroin, ah, heroin uses, methamphetamine uses. It’s a big issue for our state right now.

Childers – And so, in terms of extending wall the 57-mile stretch of wall, what part of that wall would be in your area in New Mexico?

Mace – That would be down on our southern border, that would be Luna County, Dona Ana County and also Hidalgo County, down on the southern part. I’m more central in the state, but I represent these sheriffs because I’m president of the New Mexico Sheriff’s Association.  So, I’m familiar with what’s going on. I’ve been down there. I talk with those sheriffs regularly, and again the Border Patrol, um, even our Jackie White, uh, Cabinet Secretary for Homeland Security says heh, you know, we’re having to rely on alternate resources other than our Border Patrol..

Childers – When you say alternate resources, what do you mean?

Mace –The National Guard down there. They thinned them down a little bit. This is really gonna help out.

Childers – You said you talk to many of the sheriffs across New Mexico as president of the Sheriff’s Association there, can you share with us any specific stories, anything they’ve had to face, specifically that sticks in your mind?

Mace – The thing that speaks in my mind, the thing that speaks to me the most are the residents, the citizens down there close to the southern border, on the medical issues, the influx of people, the stuff that’s going on with their private property, their homes getting broken into, vehicles stolen. We hear about it all the time on the local news, we see it happening, so, something needs to happen to slow this down.

Childers – What would you say to Democrats who are trying block, either the $1 billion being spent to build this wall or trying to block the President himself? What would you say to those Democrats?

Mace – I think they need to put their personal differences aside and realize what’s right for the United States of America and recognize there is a problem down there. There is a problem with our immigration system. Rather than fight the system, let’s come together and figure out how we can protect the citizens of the United States of America and slow this down.

Listening to Sheriff Mace, one has to wonder as to what in the world Rep. Adam Schiff is thinking when he stated that transferring $1 billion from the DOD to build the border wall is ‘unbelievably irresponsible.’

What is unbelievably irresponsible is refusing to provide a one time funding of $25 billion to build the border wall while continuing to allow taxpayers to spend over $165 billion every year on illegal aliens.

What is unbelievably irresponsible is how Democrats place more value on illegal aliens instead of American citizens.

I believe that constitutes grounds for charges of treason against America and the American people.
